Fun, Fun, Fun...

Okay... so I am very ready for spring. I don't think there's a mother out there who isn't. I am done with the freezing cold, the snotty noses, the cumbersome coats and the drab of being stuck inside the majority of the time. But, luckily, we've taken advantage of the chilly temps and sought some solace in the snow.

A few weekends ago we met some friends up by beautiful Midway to embark on a tubing adventure. I have to admit that I almost peed my pants the first time down hill! It was so fast and I had to control not only my tube but Morgan's as well! I obviously hid my terror from Morgan since she begged to go again after every run. Eventually she was tearing down by herself. This kid has no fear. It's awesome!

Sweet little Reagan rode quietly in her little tube as the rope tow pulled her to the top of the hill. Full of trust she lunged down the hill with Daddy. Once was enough for her for there was absolutely no convincing her that tubing was fun. She was very adamant about being left at the bottom. So, we obliged. She walked her little self up and down a little snow hill, happy as a lamb, while the rest of us hurled ourselves down the hill again and again. It was SO much fun!

Eventually the cold wore on Morgi and she went from a snow-enthusiast to a pampered princess in a split second. She needed water and a fire to warm her frozen toes right away. So we crept into the lodge that delivered a Gatoraid (s?) and warmth.

We ended out our fabulous evening at the Zermatt where we lounged in a little villa and ate pizza to our heart's content. Now that's what I call a great time in the snow.

Our favorite winter retreat is out to Scofield. It is breathtakingly beautiful and just so clean and crisp in the winter. My absolute favorite is stoking the wood burning stove until it's bright red with heat and grabbing a book or putting puzzles together with the girls.

There was this gigantic ice cycle that looked like a twister. Jon decided to take a taste.

He also decided to taste the dirty snow as well.

On the super cold days I would spend a lot of time putting together a 72 hour kit. I must admit that I got a little carried away as always. We definitely will not be lacking should we have to hit the road with our fancy schmancy kit. I'm glad I did it. Now onto a better food storage.

The sweetest of all was Morgan's very first dance performance ever. She had an opportunity to perform with her little class at the Pirate's place in Orem. Too cute!!! Both sets of grandparents were able to come and support her. She felt so special. The only bummer was that I had the camera set for night shots instead of kid shots so they turned out a little blurry.

Little Reagan is in the same dance class as Morg. I decided that she may be too young to perform since she is incredibly unpredictable so I didn't buy her a costume. I felt bad because she was dying to put on a costume and run on stage. I actually had to grab her a couple of times before she intruded on the performance. So, a little duck costume appeased her well. I still think she's a little young. She's barely two with an attention span of about 3 seconds. Seriously.

I love my family!!! Great times!
