So, I've decided to get back into blogging and to change my look. Heather, if you're reading this, I need your help! Anyway, I have lots to share...

Most recently we celebrated Reagan's birthday. Lots of supportive family joined a celebration for her wonderful two years. What an amazing little person she is! We are so glad she's ours!

Jon and I took the girls to the new Pirate's place in Orem for a special birthday treat. We quickly learned that she was not the only one who was born on January 11th. We felt sorry for the waiters who spent more time singing "Happy Birthday" than serving food to the many munchkins. It was a fun place, although I think the girls are a wee bit young still.
The best was when little Reagan got her own little "Happy Birthday" song. I didn't know if she would enjoy all of the attention or burst into tears when they approached our table. I saw the tears begin to surface until they plopped a chocolate covered scoop of ice cream in front of her. It was then that she decided this birthday thing was okay.

We spent the last couple of days in December at the cabin. It tends to offer something quite magical in the winter, especially for these little girls. It was breathtakingly beautiful. The air was so cold that it literally sparkled. Everything was white and pure and untouched and quiet.

Jon found the best little sledding hill that was perfect. It wasn't super steep which made hauling up two little girls in a sled a little less intense, but it still made for a wild ride.

Morgan, of course, was our little thrill seeker. She would barrel down the hill at top speed, take a header, and jump in for more...

Reagan, not so much.

There something to be said about these simple times. They are wonderful!

Morgan started primary. She was so excited! I am still trying to get used to the fact that I have a sunbeam. Where does the time go? Seriously!?! She is most definitely a beautiful girl, isn't she?

Christmas time! Always such a wonderful season and we had fun! Christmas for us always begins with the traditional trip to Temple Square with a wonderful meal with Jon's family at The Garden. Delicious!

There's always the gingerbread house. This particular one was so precious. It was made, and mostly eaten, by sweet little fingers.

Another highlight that still gets me giddy is Grandma Carlson's Christmas Party. What can beat a whole bunch of people packed into a lovingly decorated basement with abundant food and Santa and Mrs. Claus? Nothing!

Morgan had announced in early December that she didn't like Santa Claus. I honestly couldn't blame her. What kind of guy dresses like that, lives with elves, flies a sleigh with Reindeer and sneaks into your home while you're sleeping? But, I was very proud of her sitting on Santa's lap. It took a lot of courage for her.

Santa left a different impression on Reagan. She could not care less who he was if he had a gift for her.

Christmas morning is always the most magically time ever. The girls are getting old enough that they believe and anticipate. Although we most definitely concentrate on the Savior as the true meaning of Christmas, I don't believe there is anything wrong with a little magic of Santa. And he delivered, that's for sure!

Santa knew that the girls' attention span would not make it through had he wrapped every single gift. So, he opted to leave the majority of them unwrapped which proved to be a lot less stressful all around.

Life is wonderful!
