My Favorite Day of the Year

The 24th of July is my favorite day of the year. I anticipate the carnival, the parade, the barbecue, the friends, the rodeo, the booths, the crowds, the hot sun, the smell of sunscreen months before. It's a day or two jammed packed with tradition. It is the best!I don't know who was more excited for the carnival, Morgan or me. I know it definitely was not Reagan. She could do without the rides. But our adrenalin junky hit the rides like nobody's business. The funnest part was watching how much fun she was having. Her laugh was contagious. It was so much fun.

The best was riding the zipper with my friend Lindsey. We got the perfect car that spun the dickens out of us. We laughed so hard that we were hoarse. It was a super fun three minutes which will convert me forever to the zipper.

PARADE with the best seats in town!!! Thanks Mom and Dad.

What is better than the sound of gun shots at the beginning of the parade? Maybe the sirens on the firetruck or the cheerleaders or the rodeo queens or the princesses? Ah. Maybe it's the candy!!! I think it's all of it with a little bit of family and friends mixed in.

My favorite thing is to share with my family traditions that mean so much to me. The 24th is such a special day and I hope that it holds a special place in my kids' hearts as well. May we forever be thankful for parades and carnivals and rodeos!

You've converted me! I don't think I know anyone else who likes the 24th of July better. :)
